Our work on supporting community moderators for online news articles using visual analytics has been accepted for presentation at CHI 2016 in San Jose, CA!

The visual system, called CommentIQ, helps moderators manage the tremendous amount of comments submitted to online articles by automatically ranking them based on criteria derived from newspaper editors themselves, such as relevance, readability, personal experience, and length. The system was then evaluated in the field in actual newsroom at the Washington Post, the Baltimore Sun, the Wall Street Journal, and the New York Times.

The work was recognized by a CHI Honorable Mention, representing the top 5% of papers accepted to the conference! We look forward to presenting the work in San Jose in May.
