$1.8M NIH grant on genomic visualization!

I am Co-PI on a new 4-year National Institutes of Health grant on improving genomic data analysis using visualization.

Co-author on upcoming DTUI – 6th edition

I am a co-author of the upcoming sixth!) edition of the classic textbook “Designing the User Interface“, originally written by Ben Shneiderman and Catherine Plaisant.

Sketcholution in IJHCS

Our work on Sketcholution, a visualization of sketch histories, has just been accepted for publication in the International Journal of Human-Computer Studies. 

IEEE VIS 2014 in Paris

We presented three pieces of work at the IEEE VIS 2014 conference in Paris, France in November: papers on the Munin, VASA, and DIA2 projects.

Moving to UMD!

Starting August 2014, I will be an associate professor of information studies at the iSchool (College of Information Studies) at University of Maryland, College Park!

CAREER award funded!

My NSF CAREER  proposal has been awarded by the National Science Foundation! This is a great honor that will yield close to $500k spread over five years starting February 1, 2013. Please see the award abstract here  for more details.
